The Original Dope Chick
TT Torrez first started her career as a part-time radio host for WCHH Hot 92.7 in Charlotte, NC. With this new career came a lot of traveling from city to city in various areas around North and South Carolina, Philadelphia and Virginia. It was while in Charleston, SC that Torrez worked as a midday personality and producer for The Russ Parr Morning Show. Upon exploring her passion for the Television industry, Torrez dabbled in writing and producing for various television shows, doing on-camera interviews, and even contributed to Music Choice.
For four years the original dope chick managed to juggle TV and radio by working weekends as on-air talent for WUSL Power 99 in Philadelphia. In addition to that, Torrez worked full time as the afternoon personality and Music Director for WCDX iPower 92.1 in Richmond, VA before initially
moving to New York’s Hot 97.
Coming from humble beginnings, TT makes sure that she always take time out of her busy schedule to give back to the community. Her "Pink Birthday Party" charity helps with breast cancer research to find a cure, and the "I Will Wait Until I Graduate" campaign encourages young girls to graduate first before starting a family at a young age.
Earlier this year TT Torrez received the "Best Community Service" award from the VA Association of Broadcasters for her annual "Prom-a-Thon" campaign which gives over 500+ girls with prom preparations including hair & makeup, and a variety of dresses to choose from for prom.
Even though TT Torrez secured her spot at New York’s number one hip-hop station, Hot 97, TT landed a gig as one of the hosts of the Culture List on BET’s new network Centric.
Nothing short of a hustler, TT truly embodies the definition of a Dope Chick.
